[ABOUT}
Timo writes scores that get under the skin.
His scores inhabit the space between beauty and unease, intimacy and scale. Built from orchestral writing, manipulated acoustics, found sound, analogue imperfection and electronic processing, his scores feel tactile, physical and deeply human.
Working across film and television, Timo collaborates with directors from the earliest stages of development, treating music as part of the storytelling - not something added later, but woven into the DNA of the story. His scores are tactile, emotionally charged, and shaped by restraint as much as release, with every decision serving character, rhythm, and emotional truth. Whether writing for a single instrument or full orchestra, he creates music that doesn't accompany the narrative, it becomes part of it.
Before composing for screen, Timo spent more than a decade as a major-label recording artist, guitarist and vocalist, touring internationally with acts including The Prodigy and Feeder. That instinct for performance - for tension, release and controlled chaos - still runs through everything he writes.
Over a career spanning more than three decades, Timo has composed for film, television, and games. His credits include the internationally acclaimed series River Monsters - the long-running global hit series broadcast in more than 100 countries worldwide - as well as projects for Universal, Netflix, Disney+, CBS, the BBC, Sony and Sega.
Timo divides his time between the UK and The Storm Room, his purpose-built scoring studio in the French Alps, where directors come to develop bold, cinematic work away from distraction. It's a place built for concentration, for experimentation and for finding the sound a story has been waiting for.
